Our Artists

KL Folgner

Karen Folgner is a representational and abstract artist residing in both the Bay Area and Carmel-by-the-Sea. She has a love for influencing the mood of an environment. Much of her inspiration is drawn from the post WWII abstract expressionist painters of San Francisco, particularity the Sausalito Six. When working with representation in mind, attention is paid to color, balance, texture and form, just as any of her abstract paintings. Each piece is intended to evoke an essence of a moment, often times a bookmark in her personal life. Karen has won accolades in juried competitions and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the United States (and Mexico in the near future). Her work can be found in private collections as well as hotels across the country.

Haylee Nichols

Haylee was born on Long Island, New York and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. She works primarily with flashe and acrylics on canvas, wood panel, and paper. She is particularly drawn to the landscapes of Los Angeles, California and Cape Rosier, Maine where she visits in the summers each year. She works from her own photographs, focusing on the light and the relationships between colors. While some of her works are realistic, she also delves into abstraction and manipulation to further explore ways of seeing.

She received her BFA in painting from Purchase College, while also learning to shoot large format photography and use the non-silver printing process. This gave her the ability to control and explore what was within the frame, which she still applies to her art making process today.

In 2016, Haylee founded Stone Grove, a floral and fine arts project based in Los Angeles.

Artist Statement:

My paintings represent a moment in time. When a landscape or interior space catches my eye, I want it to live on forever. I aim to draw the viewer in, to see what I see while also experiencing something of their own. As I mix colors and draw out the composition, I remember why I was so enthralled with the scene in the first place. It’s a gut feeling, and I have to see it through.

Lucy Eyears

Lucy Eyears (b. 1992) lives and works in Los Angeles. Her neo-expressionism paintings reflect the interplay between our environment and our conscience. Using acrylic and oil pastels, Eyears explores themes of personal growth and the inherent connection between nature and our emotions. Her work is influenced by color theory and the 7th Street women of New York in the late 1960’s. Eyears deconstructs her imaginative still lifes with bright colors, expressive brushstrokes, and abstract movements. Her process is intuitive, allowing instincts to guide her through each piece, finding forms and shapes as she works through different emotions.

Francesca Owen

Francesca Owen; born in Chester, United Kingdom currently lives on the east cost of Australia. With a performance background, her chosen artistic medium is photography. Her intrigue for the water began at the young age of 8, when she was introduced to Synchronised Swimming. From 2012, she took a real transformation from the performance scene to the photographic scene, after hanging up her competitive bathers in Synchronised Swimming and having already studied photography at University she was able to merge her passions and lure her audience down by capturing the magic that unfolds through the elegance and movement of suspended dance. Her work and creative eye continues to gain international recognition with her unique background and experience in this creative realm.

Francesca’s imagery is an extension of her experiences, the feeling of performing and letting go; igniting that creative fire in others. She takes oneself away from their environment and puts them into a dreamlike scene, where anything is possible. The show element of being in the moment is intertwined throughout her work, as well as the elegance of movement and the female form. She takes you across the world, and under the water; a form of escapism but also touched with the feeling of vulnerability. “I want my viewers to feel free and at ease when seeing my imagery, but also igniting that lust and spark for movement and expression”.

Francesca’s experience in and around the water and creative intrigue has led into her offering commissioned pieces and is open to working on bespoke projects and installations for commercial brands and individual clients. Her background with working with commercial clients such as Halcyon House, Emporium Hotels, The Ivy to create water shows has added to her photographic medium and skill set. Francesca’s world is a kaleidoscope of elegance, expression, and a glimpse of glitter and we invite you to take a look through her eyes.

Marina Timm

I am an interdisciplinary abstract artist from Vladivostok, Russia. I work predominantly with collage and mixed media. In late 2002 I have moved to Los Angeles, which I have called my home ever since. I have attended Santa Monica College from 2003 to 2006 majoring in photography and fine arts. I have continued to make art in my spare time while I obtained a Culinary Arts degree in 2008 and was pursuing a career in the food industry. In late 2010 my first son was born and for the next few years I  was taking care of my growing family full-time. In 2015, I once again began producing artistic work. I have spent the time between then and now refining my technique as well as experimenting with new ideas and materials.

Artist Statement:

How does one navigate through the infinite chaos of choices and chances in order to construct a meaningful personal experience? Observing and contemplating our collective human melodrama is what drives me to create. The exaltation and despair of our interconnected daily lives and the absurd banality of it all are my focus. An assemblage of arbitrary shapes, shades and textures becomes a new complete whole. I chose collage as my preferred medium because it feels like an open-ended puzzle or a balancing of objects. The practice of bringing unrelated elements together to produce a cohesive piece helps me explore and understand complex human interactions.

My main influences are the artists of the Russian avant-garde like K. Malevich and A. Rodchenko, as well as the Dadaist movement of the post WWI Europe. Their aesthetic and polar opposite views on what art is and should be have long been a source of fascination for me.

Darla McGraw

Darla McGraw is a Los Angeles based multi-disciplinary artist with a focus in painting. Originally from southern California, she studied sculpture and pottery in San Francisco before making her way back down to Los Angeles. It was here that she found painting, and what the immediate gratification of color and balance does for the soul. Spanning both canvas and large scale murals, she strives for serenity, for richness in depth, for a daily reminder to just breath through it all.

Ali Enache

Ali Enache is an American abstract artist based in Los Angeles.

Her minimalist works on raw canvas evoke a sense of calm and reflection, embracing imperfections that emerge during her creative process. Inspired by the tranquility of nature and organic color palettes, Enache’s intuitive abstract paintings radiate subtle, organic elegance through layered acrylic washes in muted tones reminiscent of the natural world.

Enache’s art is a study in restraint and release, capturing the tension between control and spontaneity. Her paintings evoke contemplation through subtlety and nuance. She aims to elicit emotion through suggestion rather than overt expression. Enache’s minimalist style is characterized by simplicity of form and economy of means. She believes that empty space is as important as the painted elements on her canvases.

Enache began her career as a graphic designer and art director in 2010. In 2020, amid the pandemic, she revisited her childhood passion for acrylic painting. Since then, she has dedicated each day to honing her craft as an abstract artist.

Enache is represented by Wallspace, a contemporary art gallery in West Hollywood, CA. Her work can be found in private collections across the US and she has completed custom commissions for collectors and interior designers.

Enache recently exhibited at The Other Art Fair in LA (March/September 2022) and Superfine Art Fair (October 2022). She also participated in The Scouted Studio’s Emerging Artist Show (October 2022). Enache will exhibit at the Beverly Hills Art Show in May 2023, along with other summer exhibitions currently in the works.
